A heart-warming collaboration: the parish of St. John in Geroldswil and Eva Kellner - Vojtikevicova

At the Koroboi Foundation we are delighted and grateful for the wonderful cooperation that has developed in recent months with the Catholic parish of St. John in Geroldswil, Switzerland, and Eva Kellner - Vojtikevicova. This collaboration not only promises new opportunities for our work in Kibara, but also reflects the values of charity and solidarity that are at the heart of both our foundation and the parish.

Connection to Kibara
Eva Kellner - Vojtikevicova is no stranger to Kibara. In 2012-2013, she worked as a junior doctor at St. Mary Kibara Hospital. Her time there left a deep impression on her, and she has maintained an enduring connection with Kibara ever since. Eva currently works as a paediatrician in Switzerland and is a dedicated member of the parish council of the Catholic parish of St. John in Geroldswil.

The parish of St. John, which consists of the villages of Fahrweid, Geroldswil, Oetwil a.d.L., and Weiningen, is a close-knit community with about 3700 Catholic Christians. Together with the pastoral team, the parish council plays a crucial role in shaping community life.

A valuable encounter
Over the past few months, our board has maintained warm contact with Eva via email, WhatsApp and telephone. On July 25, 2024, Raymond and Michiel had the honor of meeting Eva, her husband and children in person. This cordial get-together was not only an opportunity to get to know each other better, but also to have good conversations about our common goals and ambitions.

Eva brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to this meeting. Her passion for health care and poverty alleviation, especially in Africa, reflects the values that we at the Koroboi Foundation also consider to be of great importance. Together we spoke at length about her time in Kibara, the current challenges and the vision of our foundation.

A promising commitment
One of the most exciting outcomes of this meeting was the commitment of the parish of St. John to support our foundation financially. This gesture of solidarity and trust has touched us deeply.

We are extremely grateful for the support of Eva and the Parish Council of St. John. This partnership provides us not only with the means to continue our projects in Kibara, but also with the moral support that is so crucial to our work.

A future full of hope
We look forward with great hope and enthusiasm to the future and the further cooperation with the parish of St. John. Together, we can make a lasting difference to Kibara Hospital and the people who rely on our help.

In future blogs, we will keep you informed about the progress of this collaboration and the results we will achieve together. We remain in close contact with Eva and the parish and look forward to what we can achieve together.

We sincerely thank the people of St. John for their warm support. Together we can make a difference.
