About the Koroboi Foundation
About the Koroboi Foundation
At Koroboi Foundation, our mission is simple: we help the St. Mary Kibara Hospital in Tanzania, which provides care to the local community. Our goal? Supporting the poor, sick and vulnerable in Kibara and the surrounding area, without exclusion. We believe there is enough goodness for everyone.
Location
Kibara is a small village on the shores of Lake Victoria in Tanzania. Kibara connects to the mainland through the Bunda district. Nearby Ukerewe Island is accessible by ferry. The heart of Kibara is St. Mary's Hospital.
St. Mary Hospital
The remote hospital has 105 beds and treats about 1,300 patients every month, divided between inpatient and outpatient care. It includes a children's ward, women's ward (including maternity ward), men's ward, and an HIV clinic. Medical staff regularly travel to remote areas for surveillance, medicine distribution and vaccinations.
The Battle for Medical Care
Although the funding comes from patient payments, the government and third parties, it is not enough to cover the costs. As a result, crucial medical equipment and medication are missing. This results in inadequate care, which can have tragic consequences. Especially for children.
Poverty and disease
The poverty in the region means that many cannot afford medical care. This leads to postponed requests for help and bigger problems. Despite limited resources, St. Mary Kibara Hospital provides care. Even to those who can't pay. There is a constant shortage of medicines and tools. The medical staff work with passion and dedication, and urgently need extra support.
Desire
In the founding statement you can read why we support St. Mary Kibara Hospital, what our motivations are and what our desire is.
The Board
The board guarantees a direct and trusted relationship with the board of St. Mary Kibara Hospital. We make agreements about the spending and accountability of the donations. The foundation's fees are minimal and completely transparent. In this way, 99% of every euro received goes to the projects.
The board consists of volunteers. These are:

Joep Coppes | Chairman

Raymond Kimman | Secretary

Michiel Ruijs | Treasurer
