Another milestone: new beds for Kibara hospital

Project update August 2025 - Koroboi Foundation

-

In recent months, we have proudly and gratefully reported on several great initiatives on this website: the biscuit campaign, the announcement of Casper Kimman's participation in the half triathlon, the Page toilet paper campaign for the Food Bank, and most recently the wonderful sponsor result of Casper's sporting achievement.

Today we share with at least as much joy and gratitude the completion of the next concrete project: the purchase of 18 new hospital beds, complete with mattresses, mosquito nets ánd lockable lockers. These have now been placed in various wards of the hospital in Kibara - and the first photos clearly show: progress is visible and tangible.

This step is part of the first 'building block' in our approach: the improving departments. Earlier, in December 2024, the maternity ward could already be equipped with new beds. Now, the hospital has taken another big step forward thanks to this expansion. Patients lie safer, more comfortably and with more privacy, and nursing staff can do their jobs better.

🎉 Thanks to all givers
This wonderful development has only become possible thanks to the tremendous support we have been privileged to receive over the past period. Our great thanks go to:

  • Our Supporting parish in Switzerland
  • The Caritas of Soest and Amersfoort
  • The Amersfoort joint diaconates
  • Kimberly Clark and Verkade
  • The many private donors
  • And, of course, to Casper Kimman and everyone who sponsored him in his half triathlon

Without your commitment, generous contributions and warm hearts for Kibara, this result would not have been conceivable. Asanteni sana - thank you very much!

With this first visible improvement on the wards, we feel that together we are making a real difference. Step by step, Kibara hospital is becoming a better place for care, recovery and dignity.

🔜 Follow-up steps
We are currently in discussions with the hospital board on the next steps, both short- and medium-term. It is expected that the next project will focus on supporting the procurement of medical equipment and resources.

More on that soon in a subsequent blog.

Sharing together, with love.
