Heartwarming Biscuit Campaign for Food Banks in Amersfoort and Soest
–
With Kings Day approaching, 500 families dependent on the food bank in Amersfoort and Soest received a special and heartwarming extra: an orange Verkade biscuit tin, richly filled with delicious biscuits. This action was made possible thanks to the support of the PCI of OLV van Amersfoort and the PCI of HH Martha and Maria in Soest. On behalf of Stichting Koroboi: thank you for your trust and concrete help!
The 500 filled biscuit tins - donated by Verkade from Zaandam - were distributed to the food banks in Amersfoort (250 tins) and Soest (250 tins). The action had a double goal: to offer families, who are struggling financially, a happy and tasty package, and at the same time raise funds for the St. Mary hospital in Kibara, Tanzania.
A Win-Win Action
With a one-off contribution of €750 per PCI respectively, we were each able to donate 250 filled cans to the respective food bank. This support not only visibly alleviates poverty in our own region, but also directly benefits better medical care in Kibara.
In Kibara, the need for medical assistance is great. With the proceeds from this action, Koroboi Foundation will be able to supply essential tools to the hospital on the spot. This way, every cake makes a difference on the other side of the world too.
Gratitude to all involved
The response from the food banks was heartwarming. Recipients were pleasantly surprised by this unexpected gesture. In times when everything becomes more expensive, a small gift is sometimes of great significance.
We thank Verkade for their generous donation. We thank the PCIs of Amersfoort and Soest for their trust and support. And we thank the food banks for their commitment to helping vulnerable families in our own area.
Light and Love, near and far
This action fits perfectly with the Koroboi Foundation's mission: sharing, with love. In the Netherlands and in Tanzania. We hope to organise this kind of connecting action more often: small in form, big in meaning.
