Medical team from Valencia strengthens care in Kibara

Last month, our foundation experienced a special development that we would like to share with you. During our visit to Valencia in September, we were introduced to several doctors from the Universidad Católica de Valencia (UCV). From that meeting, a valuable collaboration was born that has already yielded visible results for Kibara hospital.

Visit by a medical team from Valencia

In early October, a team of specialists travelled to Kibara to provide medical care and perform surgeries together with local staff. The treatments they performed there are normally hardly available in this region. The impact for patients was therefore immediate - not only in medical results, but also in hope and confidence.

The team consisted of:

Urologists

  • Dr Jorge López Ferrandis
  • Dr José María Velis Campillo
  • Dr César D. Vera Donoso

Nurse

  • Ms Teresa Colomer Benítez

Medical student (UCV)

  • Mr Luís Sosa Tolosa

We are extremely grateful to them for their dedication, commitment and professionalism. Their contribution not only helped individual patients but also shared valuable knowledge with the local team - exactly the reinforcement the hospital needed.

A New Milestone for the Koroboi Foundation: Signing the MoU

A report full of recommendations

Dr César Vera Donoso is currently preparing a comprehensive report following their mission. This document contains concrete recommendations to structurally strengthen care at Kibara hospital. Think medical equipment, training, treatment processes and practical improvement steps.

For us as Koroboi Foundation - not doctors, but animated by the desire to make an impact - such a report is of enormous value. It helps us use our donors' money in a targeted and responsible way. Every euro should contribute to better care for the people of Kibara and the region.

Long-term cooperation

In the coming weeks, we will discuss the recommendations with the hospital board and our partners at the UCV in Valencia. Together, we want to draw up a realistic roadmap: small, concrete and implementable. The strength lies in close cooperation, mutual trust and respect for the local context.

We hope to inform you soon about the first concrete steps resulting from this.

Thank you to our donors

All this is only possible thanks to your support. You are the light that - as the Swahili word Koroboi says - burns for the most vulnerable.
Asanteni sana.
