Founding blog Koroboi Foundation: A Light for the Poor

After months of intensive preparation, we are very happy to announce that the Koroboi Foundation was officially established on November 10, 2023. Its establishment marks the beginning of an important mission: to provide aid and support to the poor, sick and vulnerable people of Kibara, Tanzania. This support is provided in close cooperation with Kibara Hospital, a crucial partner in our efforts to improve healthcare in Tanzania.

The name "Koroboi" comes from an authentic Swahili oil lamp, a symbol of hope and enlightenment for the poor. Just as a Koroboi brings light to the darkness, we hope to bring light and hope to the people of Kibara. With love and dedication, we want to contribute to their well-being and health.

Our beautiful website, which is the digital home of the Koroboi Foundation, was designed and built by Charlie Poortvliet of CRP Web design from Soest. We are proud of the result. We hope that the website will be an important platform to share our message and projects, and to attract new donors who want to support our mission.

Raymond Kimman and Michiel Ruijs were present at the founding ceremony to sign the articles of association. In addition, Joep Coppes was authorized to sign the articles of association at a notary in Assen. These formal steps were essential to establish the legal foundation of our foundation and prepare us for the future.

As a board, we have big plans for 2024. One of our first priorities is to draw up a detailed policy plan for the Koroboi Foundation. This plan will lay a solid foundation for our work in the coming years and ensure that we can achieve our goals effectively and efficiently. We will share this policy plan in 1 of our next blogs, so that you can stay informed of our progress and plans.

Our focus is on targeted, small-scale projects that have a direct impact on the lives of the people in Kibara. This means that your donation will go directly to Kibara Hospital with minimal cost. Our board works entirely on a voluntary basis. This also means that almost all donations are used for help and support on the ground.

We invite you to follow our journey and join our mission to improve the lives of the people of Kibara. Together we can make a difference.

Stay tuned for more updates and stories on how we're making a difference in Kibara, Tanzania. More about this in our next blog.
